Just hit 100,000 Phone Apps downloaded!
Largely on the back of very healthy increases since the release of Windows Pone 8. (I am now looking at close to 500 download average per day).
Windows 8 – FlipView – Programatically adding Next and Previous
So when using a flipview control there is no need for ‘next’ and ‘previous’ buttons as they are built into the UI already:
But … the Windows 8 UI is new and unless you are using a mouse those buttons above will stay hidden. So these programmatic buttons serve as clues that you can indeed go backwards and forwards through the apps detail screens (I have witnessed many people repeatedly using the back button to go back to the summary screen before touching the next item to go back to the details view – at least until the penny drops!

Did Ballmer just take the bullets out of those guns with one deft move?
Or did he just take away the principal exponent of gun culture? I’m not a Microsoft insider but it is commonly known that while brilliant, Sinofsky was very much the head of his own silo. Now that Microsoft has all the pieces in place across all its divisions (divisions being a very appropriate name it would seem) it now needs to weave those pieces together to form a cohesive strategy. Yes, I guess this was always the plan but I am thinking it is going to be a whole lot easier now (!?)
I wish Stephen Sinofsky the best and look forward to seeing what he involves himself with next but I am even more excited to see what Microsoft will do next!
